About Warren Children's Choir
If you love to sing join Warren Children's Choir in our third year of music exploration of songs from around the world.
Our mission is to provide high quality voice instruction, sing outstanding choir music and perform with artistic excellence.
We use the Solfege system of naming notes (do, re, me) with hand signals to recognize musical pitches and the Kodaly music education approach with folk songs and music games in a sequential process to build music literacy.
The choir is open to children 2nd through 12th grades with leadership roles for older singers.
Weekly rehearsal starts with vocal instruction and warmups, solfege note reading, rhythm and music skills. We sing together with the full choir then divide into two skill levels. The young singers play music games to help develop pitch and the older singers work on harmony.
The fee is $40 per month.
Full Scholarships are available to any child.
We rehearse at the Struthers Library Theatre in downtown Warren. 302 West 3rd Ave. 4th floor rehearsal room.
Rehearsals Monday 4:30 - 5:30 pm (section placements & song run thru Aug. 31st, 1st rehearsal Sept. 21st)

Music For Little People
For preschool through 1st grade children we offer Music For Little People.
A fun, fast paced small class focusing on singing, instrument exploration, music games, movement & rhythm.
Designed to develop a foundation in music.
Kids just think it's fun!

Krista Clouse
Soprano Krista Monique Clouse (née McClellan) is an internationally trained vocalist who has performed opera and concert repertoire throughout the United States, Europe, and South America. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the Boston University School of Music and has pursued advanced study in Italy and Austria, including the Geminiani Opera Festival in Tuscany. She was a protégé of legendary soprano Evelyn Lear during the final years of Lear’s life through the Evelyn Lear and Thomas Stewart Emerging Singers Program of the Wagner Society of Washington.
Ms. Clouse has performed leading operatic roles including Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Dido in Dido and Aeneas, Giulietta in Les Contes d’Hoffmann, and Lucy in The Telephone. She has appeared as a soloist in concerts and recitals throughout the Washington, D.C. area and internationally, including performances for the U.S. State Department, the Brazilian Embassy, international diplomatic events, and cultural celebrations in Brazil and Italy.
Her musical training has included masterclasses and coaching with renowned artists such as Simon Estes and Jerry Hadley. She studied with lyric baritone Darrell Babidge at Brigham Young University, who now serves as Head of Voice at The Juilliard School, and has also received coaching from noted pedagogue David Jones of the Swedish-Italian School of singing in New York City.
A prizewinner in numerous vocal competitions, she was the winner of the South Carolina District Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and a finalist in the Southeast Regional auditions. She also received top honors in the Concurso Brasileiro de Canto Maria Callas in São Paulo.
Ms. Clouse performs repertoire in 18 languages and has studied vocal diction extensively in seven of them. Her work spans languages from Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish to Italian, French, German, Polish, Latin, Korean, and Japanese, reflecting a deep interest in the musical traditions of many cultures.
Larry Clouse
LARRY CLOUSE is a vocal pedagogue, conductor, pianist, organist, and producer whose artistry and insight have shaped generations of musicians. Over the course of his career, he has taught more than 700 private students and guided thousands more through school, studio, and festival programs. His students have pursued advanced degrees, launched professional performance careers, and established thriving private studios. Several have made debuts with major opera companies, performing alongside luminaries such as Plácido Domingo and Anna Netrebko, and have appeared at premier training programs including the Boston University Tanglewood Institute (BUTI), Interlochen Arts Camp, and the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria, as well as festivals across Europe and South America.
Central to Mr. Clouse’s pedagogy is a highly individualized approach that unites classical technique with contemporary voice science. Trained under renowned pedagogues Dr. Raymond “Mickey” McGuire, Dr. Michael Dominick Cordovana, and Dr. Henriette Lund, he teaches students to understand the voice as a living, responsive instrument. His instruction emphasizes breath coordination, resonance, and efficient vocal fold function while cultivating expressive freedom and musical imagination. Students frequently experience transformative “lightbulb moments” as technical clarity and artistic intention align—an outcome that lies at the heart of his teaching philosophy. With experience spanning K–8 classrooms through adult learners, he has refined a method that fosters confident, flexible, and stylistically versatile performers.
As a baritone, Mr. Clouse has performed roles such as Papageno in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte and Leporello in Don Giovanni, and has appeared as a soloist in major choral-orchestral works including Larry Allen Clouse Handel’s Messiah and Mendelssohn’s Elijah. Beyond the stage, he has produced and overseen professional recording projects, guiding artists through the full creative process, from musical interpretation to mixing and mastering.
A veteran of the studio, the classroom, and the United States Navy, Mr. Clouse brings discipline, artistry, and deep musical curiosity to every facet of his work.
